The Waterford Wilderness Hills Memory Care is in the process of formulating a plan for a family support group that will be offered monthly. The Family Support Group will meet the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at the Waterford Wilderness Hills Memory Care at 8939 Keystone Drive. CEO Eric Haider wishes to extend this invitation to the public and to all who may have interest in family support for caregivers.
The mission of the Family Support Group will be to provide regularly scheduled and ongoing opportunities for dialogue among family members. At the outset, the structure of the meetings will be informal and will provide an avenue to glean helpful information, share stories, celebrate successes, and simply provide empathetic listening and caring. As the group develops, norms will be established by the needs of the family members at The Waterford Wilderness Hills. Dr. Mary J. Greenfield, Family Caregiver at Waterford Wilderness Hills Memory Care, will be coordinating this family support group process.
The first family support group meeting will be April 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Waterford Wilderness Hills Memory Care. Families of residents will receive written confirmation of the meeting along with an informal agenda. For more information, please contact Eric Haider at (402) 890-0972.
