The Nebraska Sports Council is a non-profit organization that provides quality sports competition for athletes of all ages and abilities and promotes healthy and active lifestyle choices.  Major programs include Live Healthy Nebraska, with 10,000 participants annually, and the Cornhusker State Games, a 64-sport Olympic-style athletic festival which attracts an average of 12,000 athletes to Lincoln each July.  Other events like the annual Pumpkin Run and Mud Run round out a full-year of fun and healthy activity offerings.  2011 program dates include the Live Healthy 100-Day Challenge, Jan. 20 – April 29; Cornhusker State Games, July 15-24; Mud Run, Aug. 27 and Pumpkin Run, Oct. 15.

Nebraska Sports Council programs and events require more than 3,500 volunteers and financial backing from more than 300 businesses annually.
