36 hospitals across Nebraska are being recognized by the American Heart Association (heart.org) for their commitment to improving care for patients with heart disease and stroke through Get With The Guidelines® quality improvement programs.

Heart disease and stroke are the No. 1 and No. 4 causes of death in the United States, respectively. These conditions require swift, proven treatment to achieve the best outcomes. Through Get With The Guidelines, hospitals use real-time data, clinical best practices and performance feedback to improve adherence to evidence-based care for conditions such as stroke, heart failure, atrial fi brillation, cardiac arrest and coronary artery disease.

In Nebraska, these hospitals were recognized this year Bellevue Medical Center, Bryan Medical Center East Campus, Butler County Health Care Center, Children’s Nebraska, CHI Health Bergan Mercy, CHI Health Good Samaritan, CHI Health Immanuel Medical Center, CHI Health Lakeside Hospital, CHI Health St. Francis Medical Center, CHI Health St. Elizabeth, Columbus Community Hospital, Cozad Community Hospital, Crete Area Medical Center, Faith Regional Health Services, Fillmore County Hospital, Franciscan Healthcare, Gothenburg Memorial Hospital, Great Plains Health, Jefferson Community Health & Life, Johnson County Hospital, Kearney County Health Services, Kearney Regional Medical Center, Kimball Health Services, Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, McCook Community Hospital, Memorial Community Hospital and Health System, Methodist Fremont Health, Nebraska Medical Center, Nebraska Methodist Hospital, Phelps Memorial Health Center, Providence Medical Center, Regional West Medical Center.

Two additional hospitals located in Council Bluffs, Iowa, also received recognition: CHI Health Mercy Hospital Council Bluffs and Jennie Edmundson Hospital.
