In 2023, Matt Talbot (mtko.org) provided over 250,000 meals through onsite prepared meals, emergency food pantries and distribution of donated high-quality food – a 39% increase from the previous year. There was an average of 245 meals served during lunch and dinner each day. Additionally, over 50,000 outreach and homeless prevention services were provided, a 13% increase from the previous year. These services include case management, assistance with acquiring vital identification documents, housing, substance use services and support, message and mail services, shower and laundry services and assistance with basic and emergency needs. Approximately 25% of guests served at Matt Talbot are experiencing homelessness while others are housed but struggling in poverty. Because of volunteers’ dedicated support to Matt Talbot, an average of 596 unduplicated volunteers served each month in 2023. The total number of hours provided by volunteers in 2023 was 26,574.
