The American Heart Association (www.heart.org, AHA) signature event invites participants to sign up and step out for health. AHA and more than 3,500 community members will walk at the Greater Omaha Heart and Stroke Walk on Saturday, May 11 at Miller’s Landing. Everyone is encouraged to dress in their Heart Walk best and come out to move more.

Local businesses, along with top sponsor OrthoNebraska, American Heart Association volunteers and heart disease and stroke survivors will participate.

Participants can register for the Heart Walk by visiting OmahaHeartWalk.com. From there, participants can create personal fundraising pages, download the Heart Walk mobile app and encourage family and friends to join.

Every walker who joins, every dollar donated, means more lives saved. More research. More people trained in CPR. More medical breakthroughs. More lifesaving moments for hearts big and small. By participating and donating to Heart Walk, participants are supporting the lifesaving mission of the American Heart Association and safeguarding that fewer people die from stroke and heart disease.

The theme of this year’s Heart Walk is, “I Walk to Save Lives.” Heart disease and stroke impact people in very personal life-changing ways. Through the Heart Walk, participants are invited to express, share and be inspired by the reasons WHY they walk.

The American Heart Association’s mission is to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives. For more information, visit www.heart.org.
