CBMC’s July 25 Golf Classic to Feature Shawn Munn as Luncheon Speaker
Special guest speaker for the 21st Annual CBMC Lincoln Golf Classic (Lincoln.cbmc.com) and luncheon is Nebraska native Shawn Munn. The event is scheduled for Monday, July 25, at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course.
Between his junior and senior year in high school, a tragic farm accident severed Munn’s arm above the elbow and his leg just above the knee. Miraculously the volunteer fire department was able to arrive within minutes, stop the bleeding, and save his life.
Munn is a former top thirty player in the World Ranking for Golfers with Disability (WR4GD). He was first able to connect two of his greatest passions, God and golf, by partnering in the founding of a golf-focused ministry in Argentina. He has sponsored professional golfers on multiple tours, developed relationships with college golfers, and has joined with Christian ministries throughout professional and amateur golf. Through these activities he has seen lives of athletes changed by the transformative power of the Gospel.
In addition to being a double amputee, Munn is a father, a widower, an entrepreneur, and business owner – and according to Munn, most importantly, he is “a sinner saved by grace.”
