For thousands of families in Lincoln, a basic need isn’t always guaranteed. More than 4,000 babies under age 3 live in households where parents must choose between essentials like food and diapers.
Because diapers aren’t covered by programs like SNAP, WIC, or Medicaid, families often stretch supplies, reuse disposables, or potty train too early, impacting a baby’s health and development.
Nebraska Diaper Bank (NDB) is working to change that. In 2025, NDB distributed 471,720 diapers in Lincoln, supporting 808 babies through trusted community partners like Center for People.
Each child receives 60 to 80 diapers per month, helping them stay clean, dry, and comfortable through age three.
The impact goes beyond clean diapers. Families report reduced stress, improved sleep and health for their babies, and greater ability to afford other essentials or return to work. Diapers help create stability and dignity.
Nebraska Diaper Bank returns for its second year with Give to Lincoln Day on May 28. Your support ensures families don’t have to face diaper need alone. Every donation helps keep babies in Lincoln healthy, happy, and safe, one diaper at a time.
Let’s come together and make sure every baby has what they need to thrive.
Give diapers. Give dignity. Give to Lincoln. More information available at nebraskadiaperbank.org.
