Community Action Seeks Sponsors for Head Start Classrooms
It’s back-to-school season once again and Community Action (www.communityactionatwork.org) has just welcomed 421 babies, toddlers, and preschoolers into its Head Start programs.
Community Action has been welcoming children into its Head Start programs right here in Lincoln for over 50 years. All enrolled children live at or below 100% of the federal poverty level, and many face additional barriers to success such as homelessness or disability. The programs provide dual-generation services to ensure enrolled children—who are some of the most vulnerable in Lincoln—enter kindergarten ready to succeed. These services are provided at no cost to families.
The programs respond to a critical need for early childhood education services in our community, but with over 4,500 children ages 5 and under living in poverty in Lincoln alone, the programs need support to accomplish this important work.
Your business can help Community Action Head Start by sponsoring a baby/toddler or preschool classroom for the 2018-2019 school year! Sponsorship opportunities range from $1,500 to $2,500. Your generous gift will provide the necessary supplies and resources teachers need to support the developmental needs of enrolled children. To commemorate your generous donation, a plaque recognizing your business will be placed outside of the classroom of your choosing.
