Community Action Thanks Community for Support in 2020
Community Action (communityactionatwork.org) is thankful to the Lincoln community for providing assistance to local families throughout the pandemic but reminds that the fight is far from over. In the months since March, local need for Community Action’s poverty-fighting services has greatly increased: The pandemic has put more people than ever before in economic jeopardy, and Community Action has seen need increase this year.
“Many of the individuals seeking support this past year did so for the very first time in their lives,” said Community Action Executive Director Vi See. “The past year has been difficult for many who never thought they would face economic uncertainty… Without the support of our community, it would have been impossible to keep up.”
Generous individuals and groups from across Lincoln have helped Community Action provide many struggling families with their basic needs this year, including formula, diapers, and educational services; nightly meal services at Community Action’s soup kitchen; toys and gifts for children who otherwise would not have received presents during the holidays; and much more. Continued community support remains critical to helping families meet their basic needs in 2021.
Community Action empowers people living in poverty to reach economic stability. To learn more or donate to help struggling local families, visit communityactionatwork.org or call (402) 471-4515.
