Cornhusker Bank Collects Over 35.6K Shoes for People’s City Mission
The Lincoln People’s City Mission (pcmlincoln.org) is extremely grateful to announce that Cornhusker Bank collected 35,613 shoes during their 8th annual One Day Without Shoes event in April. Because of these generous donations, those who need a pair of shoes will get them.
In the first 7 years of the event, Cornhusker Bank and partners collected nearly 100,000 pairs of shoes and $60,000 in monetary funds, which the Mission uses to purchase new shoes for those in need and for those whose required sizes are not traditionally donated.
People’s City Mission, recently named the winner of the Lincoln’s Choice Awards in the Best Charity/Nonprofit category, was founded in 1907 to help struggling folks get back on their feet. Now thanks to the support of this initiative from the Lincoln community, they are able to put new shoes on those feet.
