DreamCatchers Offering Hands-on Sessions for Adults with Fears, No Horse Experience
DreamCatchers Ride (dreamcatchersride.org) is expanding their horizons to help more people understand the beauty of bonding with horses. Their latest offerings are hands-on “Meet a Horse” sessions for adults who have never been up-close-and-personal with a horse or who have fears of horses that they want to overcome. The sessions will not include riding horses, but will on be on the ground, where novices will have support of experts to get comfortable with these tremendous animals and experience the power of a human/horse bond.
Research indicates that about 8% of the population suffers from a fear of horses, or Equinophobia. These new DreamCatchers Ride sessions can help you at least reduce your fears, whether they stem from a negative horse experience as a child, a horse accident involving someone you know, the very size of the animals, or an unknown or innate fear.
Jodi Freeman founded DreamCatchers Ride in 2018 based on the knowledge that there are many people in Lincoln who have a passion for horses but whose families simply cannot afford the time or financial commitment a horse requires. They provide a safe place where, through learning about equine companionship and care, people can be comfortable and able to express themselves. For more information, visit dreamcatchersride.org.
