DreamCatchers Ride Schedules First Public Info Session to Highlight Services March 15
DreamCatchers Ride, Inc (dreamcatchersride.org). invites the public to its first informational session at 6 p.m. on March 15. As a new nonprofit, they want to answer people’s questions about what exactly it is that they do, who they can provide services for, and how your financial support can help them succeed. The first meeting is the kickoff for informational sessions on the third Monday of each month for both potential participant families and community members who are interested in learning more about what they do. These introductory sessions will be held at the barn, because part of the fun in learning about horse programs is meeting the horses! The sessions are expected to last about an hour, and registration is required via a sign-up link on their website or Facebook page.
As a nonprofit, DreamCatchers is able to seek sponsors and accept donations for the care of the horses involved. The nonprofit recently expanded their services to include bringing horses to those in need of companionship or emotional support—including people in retirement communities, rehabilitation facilities, after-school and/or mentoring programs, and mental-health and civic organizations, to name a few.
Jodi Freeman founded DreamCatchers Ride in 2018 based on the knowledge that there are many people in Lincoln who have a passion for horses but whose families simply cannot afford the time or financial commitment a horse requires. They provide a safe place where, through learning about equine companionship and care, people can be comfortable and able to express themselves.
