DSAF Supplies Summer Enrichment Boxes for Kids and Adults with Down Syndrome

Thanks to a generous donation from the Lincoln Community Foundation, the Down Syndrome Association for Families (DSAF, dsafnebraska.org/summer) of Nebraska is offering summer enrichment boxes for Lincoln-area infants/toddlers, school-aged children, and young adults/adults with Down syndrome! A total of 15 boxes are available on a first-come, first-served basis for each age group, while supplies last. New boxes will be available for pick up monthly at a to-be-determined location in Lincoln. Each box will deliver fun and engaging materials that also meet educational standards. The contents include:

  • Themed craft/sensory item
  • Reading activity and/or book with link to a read aloud
  • Writing activity
  • Math activity
  • Gross/fine motor activity
  • Fun, high-interest social interaction activity (Pokémon cards with link to play virtually, for example)

The Down Syndrome Association for Families (DSAF) recognizes that every person with Down syndrome is an individual who has a unique purpose and set of abilities. It is their mission to provide support and a positive vision for the future for individuals with Down syndrome and their families, friends, educators, and professionals who share in their lives. Families can reserve a summer enrichment box for their loved one with Down syndrome by visiting dsafnebraska.org/summer.
