Families Inspiring Families Awarded Funds to Provide Crisis Intervention Services
Families Inspiring Families (familiesinspiringfamilies.org) has been awarded a subaward from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services to provide crisis intervention services, mental and substance use disorder treatment, and other related recovery support for children and adults affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Subawards are federal funds awarded to the state of Nebraska and then “subawarded” to organizations like Families Inspiring Families whose project requests specifically address one of the state plan’s goals and objectives. The purpose of subaward is to address the needs of individuals with serious mental illness, individuals with substance-use disorders, and/or individuals with co-occurring serious mental illness and substance-use disorders.
Families Inspiring Families is funded in part from the Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Center for Flex Grants and the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Behavioral Health (DBH) and Children and Family Services (CFS). Funding includes federal Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) grant #93.665 or ($35,000 or 11%), state funding through DBH contract #89285 or ($122.424 or 37%), state funding through CFS contract #89686 or $(154,320 or 46%), Nebraska System of Care grant or ($3,301.26 or 1%) and Medicaid funding, or ($15,000 or 5%).
