The White Cane Foundation (givebutter.com/whitecane2025) will host its fourth annual Lover of the Light event at the beautiful Country Club of Lincoln on Thursday, Sept. 11. With special guest speaker Ava Thomas, president of the Lincoln Journal Star, and guest MC Bill Busch from 93.7 The Ticket, the evening promises inspiration, connection, and impact. Guests will enjoy delicious food and drinks, heartfelt stories, and the chance to witness the incredible difference White Cane Foundation is making.

It’s an uplifting evening of fellowship and community as the Foundation prepares to enter its 19th high-need elementary school this fall — a remarkable milestone for the charity launched just over six years ago. The White Cane Foundation’s mission is rooted in providing students with basic needs through a consistent, respectful presence. Students are empowered to step into the world with confidence and independence. In partnership with Community Learning Center Elementary Schools in Lincoln, the Foundation supplies new clothing, shoes, and hygiene kits to students in need. Each student receives: two pairs of pants, two shirts, two pairs each of socks and underwear, one pair of shoes, a hygiene kit, and a jacket or coat if needed.

Through the 202425 school year, White Cane Foundation has distributed more than 5,000 kits to approximately 2,500 students.

Tickets for Lover of the Light are nearly sold out. Cost is $125 each or $1,250 for a table of 10. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. For tickets, visit givebutter.com/whitecane2025. If tickets sell out, donations are still welcome and all donors will be recognized.
