Friendship Home Seeks Volunteers to Register for Safe Quarters

Over a thousand Friendship Home (www.friendshiphome.org) volunteers will head out on Sunday, October 6 to Lincoln and surrounding neighborhoods for Safe Quarters with the goal of knocking on every household door to collect financial contributions for victims of domestic violence. Safe Quarters is Friendship Home’s largest annual fundraiser. Over $100,000 was raised last year and, as a result, Friendship Home was able to save and change the lives of over 1,500 victims of domestic violence. This will be the 17th year the Lincoln community participates in this event.

Teams of volunteers are needed to walk Lincoln neighborhoods. A team generally consists of 8–12 members and all ages are encouraged to participate. Volunteers will receive t-shirts and collection buckets for the drive.

Funds collected during Safe Quarters go towards Friendship Home’s mission to provide safe, confidential shelter, crisis services, and ongoing support for families who have experienced domestic violence and are rebuilding their lives.
