On Wednesday, January 29, from 4 to 4:30 p.m. at The Foundry Community (211 N. 14th St.), Global Ties Nebraska (globaltiesnebraska.org), formerly known as the Lincoln Council for International Visitors, will be hosting a ribbon cutting event through the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce in celebration of their new rebranding. A reception will follow in the 3rd floor conference room of The Foundry. Global Ties Nebraska members, friends, and the community are all invited to attend.
Global Ties Nebraska, a Lincoln nonprofit and community-based member affiliate of Global Ties U.S., is on a mission to advancing global citizen diplomacy in Nebraska. Working closely with the U.S. Department of State, Global Ties Nebraska organizes impactful programming for the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), creating opportunities for visiting international leaders to engage with local community members, gain valuable insights, and build lasting connections in Nebraska.
Global Ties Nebraska’s programs support the vision of IVLP by connecting Nebraska community members with international leaders through professional exchanges, cultural activities, and unique Dinner Diplomat experiences, where visitors dine in local homes, gaining an authentic perspective on American culture and values. These exchanges promote citizen diplomacy, fostering mutual understanding and goodwill across borders while empowering local Nebraskans to become active participants in global conversations.
