On Saturday, January 11, Goodwill Industries Serving Southeast Nebraska, Inc. (lincolngoodwill.org) will hold its eighth annual Electronics Recycling Drive to celebrate National Technology Day. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., community members are encouraged to drop off electronics of all brands and conditions at Goodwill’s store at 4555 Vine St.
Thanks to Goodwill’s partnership with Dell Reconnect, all electronic donations will be resold, refurbished, or responsibly recycled. Revenue from electronics sold in Goodwill’s thrift stores in Lincoln and York helps fund a variety of employment services and programs in Southeast Nebraska. Nonworking electronics will be shipped to Dell’s recycling centers and broken down in an environmentally responsible manner. By recycling used technology, Dell keeps reusable materials out of the landfill and decreases the amount of e-waste in the environment.
For 93 years, Goodwill Industries Serving Southeast Nebraska, Inc. has been strengthening the Lincoln community by providing services for individuals who face barriers to employment and by offering residents a year-round outlet for recycling electronics, household items and clothing.
