Goodwill Industries ( lincolngoodwill.org) Serving Southeast Nebraska, Inc. announced plans to open a thrift and donation center in Lincoln’s North Star Crossing development. Located at the corner of 30th Street and Folkways Boulevard, the new store will neighbor businesses like T.O. Haas, Chick-fil-A and others to be announced. The Folkways location will be one of Goodwill’s largest stores in Southeast Nebraska, increasing opportunities for shoppers, donors and job seekers alike.
“We are excited for this opportunity to offer a larger store north Lincoln,” said Denise Luke, Retail Director at Goodwill Industries Serving Southeast Nebraska. “The new store will allow us to serve more secondhand shoppers and provide another convenient donation and recycling outlet for community members.”
Like other Goodwill stores in the area, the Folkways location will accept and sell gently used donations of clothing, furniture, electronics and other home goods to support Goodwill’s mission of “willing workers employed and community resources maximized.” Revenue from Goodwill donations funds a variety of local employment services and programs that help individuals overcome traditional barriers to employment.
“Goodwill is grateful for all of our donors and shoppers who help us change lives for local job seekers.” said Alana Sesow, Communications Coordinator at Goodwill Industries Serving Southeast Nebraska. “Without them, we wouldn’t exist, and the Folkways location will give more individuals the opportunity to join us in this mission.”
For 93 years, Goodwill Industries Serving Southeast Nebraska, Inc. has been dedicated to strengthening the Lincoln community through services for individuals facing employment barriers, while providing a year-round outlet for donating clothes, electronics, and household goods. In 2024 alone, Goodwill successfully diverted over 3.3 million pounds of materials from local landfills and served over 5,700 individuals through generous community donations.
