Habitat for Humanity Completes Faith Build 2020 Roof, Seeks Donations to Finish Work
Habitat for Humanity (lincolnhabitat.org) recently reported the successful conclusion of their Faith Build 2020 roof. Building on many years of continued support of Habitat for Humanity, the First Mennonite Church-Lincoln completed the Faith Build, which brings local churches together to raise walls, funds, and prayers to build a house in partnership with a family in the Lincoln community.
The 2020 Faith Build is the future home of Ezana, Addis, and their two children, Yabsra and David. The family has lived in a tiny, one-bedroom apartment for the last three years, which has only become tougher as their children continue to grow. Yabsra and David love playing outdoors and riding bikes, but there is no outdoor play area or green space at the apartment. Due to security concerns, the family stores their bikes inside their apartment, which makes things even more crowded. The family is excited for their home to be complete so that they have more room to gather as a family and their children have a backyard where they can play safely.
If you or your congregation wants to donate time or financial resources to the remainder of Habitat for Humanity’s Faith Build 2020, please contact Dani Vallis, volunteer and community outreach coordinator, at (402) 480-6219 / dvallis@lincolnhabitat.org.
