Heartland Cancer Foundation Prepares for Upcoming Golf Tournament Fundraiser
The Heartland Cancer Foundation (HFC; heartlandcancerfoundation.org) is hosting the Heartland Classic Mixer, a golf tournament fundraiser at Firethorn Golf Course, on October 12. The tournament will be a four-person scramble, including a luncheon, shotgun start, and a virtual post-golf reception. HFC is respecting social distancing by providing a boxed meal at each player’s cart while guest speaker Bronson Riley presents during lunch. Bronson Riley is a board-certified cancer genetic counselor and director of research at Southeast Nebraska Cancer Center. The fundraiser will include a raffle, games on the course, and fun prizes.
HCF programs are designed to financially assist low-income cancer patients with practical assistance so they can focus on healing. Keeping a safe environment for their guests and staff is a top priority for HCF, but they want to do everything possible to continue raising money for cancer patients in the community. Even with the ongoing pandemic, cancer patients are still going through treatments and need help more than ever.
The Heartland Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)(3) with a mission to provide practical and immediate assistance to local cancer patients. They help with housing (mortgage and rental assistance), car payments, gas cards, and utilities.
