Heartland Cancer Foundation Releases Detailed Itinerary for Mardi Gras Gala
Heartland Cancer Foundation (HCF) (heartlandcancerfoundation.org) has released a detailed itinerary for their signature event, the Mardi Gras Gala, on February 21 at the Lincoln Cornhusker Marriott hotel from 6 to 11 p.m.
The event will kick off with a “Bourbon Street” happy hour and silent auction in the hotel’s atrium from 6 to 7 p.m. Following happy hour, guests will move into the themed ballroom and enjoy dinner service and the Foundation’s program featuring emcee, Dean Wysocki of KLKN TV, and special guest speaker, Jovan Dewitt, assistant coach of University of Nebraska Lincoln’s outside linebackers and special teams. The evening will wrap up with an after-party featuring the Dueling Pianos from 10 to 11 p.m.
HCF uses money raised from the gala and similar events to help cover the costs of housing payments, car payments, medical supplies, medical expenses, medication, and gasoline for eligible cancer patients. With 26% of cancer patients never recovering due to medical costs, HCF has taken it upon themselves to ensure no one falls behind while undergoing treatment because they struggle to afford basic necessities. They work to lighten the burden of financial stress in cancer patients in the community.
