HopeSpoke’s Psychoeducational Video Series Serves Up Important Community Resource

In October 2020, HopeSpoke (hopespoke.org) introduced a psychoeducational video series in an effort to create online educational resources for community members. This video series, hosted by Outpatient Therapist Cambria Beirow, MA, PLMHP, covers a variety of topics, so far including: Anxiety in Children, Boundaries, Coping During COVID-19, Distance Learning, Effective Communication Skills, Psychoeducation, Healthy Social Media Use, and Trauma 101.

In the first video, Cambria highlights the importance of the psychoeducation series, noting that the goal is to help people better understand topics and subjects tied to the world of mental health: “Evidence-based research explains that by utilizing psychoeducation, people feel much more in control of their mental-health conditions,” Cambria says. “…They are much more prepared to move through their therapeutic process.”

HopeSpoke has been inspiring healthy futures for children and their families through comprehensive behavioral and mental-health services for more than 70 years. They provide help for youth at risk for suicide and behavioral challenges, and they provide school-based therapy for public-school students.
