I’ve Got a Name Presents Three Creative Ways to Give Toward Ending Sex Trafficking
Unable to give as many presentations or host fundraising events, which are the ultimate factors that drive awareness and support, I’ve Got a Name‘s (ivegotaname.org) three ways to give––Buy the Hour, Pave the Way, and Our Growth––are more crucial than ever. Buy the Hour is focused on supporting street outreach hour by hour, because the first hour of street outreach is the most critical hour for each girl they encounter. Giving $6 a month ($72/year) supports one hour of street outreach, $25 a month ($300/year) supports a half day, and $50 a month ($600/year) supports a full day. Pave the Way allows people to choose their donation amount based on the facts: $10—10 is the youngest age of a girl who has been sex trafficked that I’ve Got a Name has worked with; $23—23 is the average age of women they’ve worked with; $60—60 minutes is the first critical hour of street outreach; and $99—$99 billon a year is profited from global sexual exploitation. Finally, Our Growth is based on I’ve Got a Name’s growth goal of $87,000, which will go towards building their street outreach team, beginning a men’s movement, and strengthen awareness.
I’ve Got a Name is a Lincoln-based nonprofit organization that aims to put an end to sex trafficking in Nebraska. This year, they have received several new referrals of young women and girls who desperately needed help.
