Lincoln Veterans Parade Group Seeks Support for November 9 Event
The Veterans Parade, organized by the Lincoln Veterans Parade Group (www.lincolnveteransparade.org), will be on Saturday, November 9, starting at 2 p.m. at Lincoln High School and will end at the Capital Building. Opening ceremonies are at the Capital Building on the north steps. There are many ways to support this event, including becoming a sponsor, donating, volunteering before and/or on the day of the parade, or having an entry in the parade.
Lincoln public and private high school marching bands will be performing as well as high school marching bands from surrounding towns. This year, the Veterans Parade will have feature floats, vehicles, military organizations, and other civic organizations.
This year, the Lincoln Veterans Parade Group is honoring the 75th Anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy. In the summer of 1944, men from all over the world came to fight in Normandy to defeat Nazism and re-establish freedom. This is the time to remember and pay tribute to these Veterans along with their brothers in arms, those many heroes who lost their lives during that summer of 1944.
Information and registration for the Veterans Parade can be found at www.lincolnveteransparade.org.
