Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach Provides Boxed To-Go Meals During COVID-19
Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach (mtko.org) is monitoring the news related to the spread of the coronavirus and making necessary accommodations as this public health crisis evolves. Amidst the many closures and cancellations in Lincoln, the needs of Matt Talbot’s guests do not stop and in fact may increase as the economic situation worsens. The staff is working with their community partners and volunteers to ensure that they prioritize safety and continue to meet the needs of the homeless and near homeless. Boxed to-go meals are provided from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, boxed to-go meals are available from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Congregate meals are temporarily suspended until further notice.
Other than meals, the facility is only open to guests using laundry, shower, and hygiene services by appointment. Education classes are suspended until further notice. However, Matt Talbot’s housing, case management, counseling, and substance use evaluation services are ongoing.
Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach’s leadership team is assessing the situation daily to ensure the agency’s operations are following recommendations to keep the community and their staff, volunteers, and guests safe. Get the most recent updates and learn how you can help at mtko.org.
