Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach (mtko.org) will keep its regular meal schedule through the holidays with volunteers serving special fully prepared meals for lunch from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. and dinner from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Guests can choose to “dine in” or take their meal “to-go”. All are welcome.
Plans are underway for the annual Holiday Fiesta Celebration which will be held during lunch in December with a traditional Mexican feast donated by La Paz Mexican Restaurant and served by members of the board of directors. Additionally, the Department of Natural Resources will be sponsoring cookie decorating!
Community members have worked with staff to provide assistance during the holidays for individuals and families in Matt Talbot’s housing programs which use evidence based and compassionate service delivery models that include case management and assistance with finding quality affordable housing. Clients have received assistance with basic needs, transportation, furniture, clothing, and Christmas presents for their children.
Donations of gift cards in any amount to local grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, Walmart, or Target are needed for housing clients. Cards can be mailed to Matt Talbot or dropped off between 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
