As National Volunteer Week is April 21 through April 27, Mosaic (www.mosaicinfo.org) in Southeast Nebraska is calling for more volunteers to help fulfill its Mission of empowering those the nonprofit supports—people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and other diverse needs—to live full and meaningful lives.
“Volunteers are a vital part of Mosaic,” said Mosaic Community Relations Manager, Malindi Gabelhouse. “Our work wouldn’t be possible without volunteers who, for example, advocate for disability rights, provide companionship to people we serve, support Mosaic staff and help advance our community relations work.”
“Specifically for Mosaic in Southeast Nebraska, we need volunteers who will do a variety of things such as helping organize and set up for events hosted by Mosaic or our community partners ,” said Gabelhouse. “Also, when a volunteer gives someone we serve the encouragement to learn a new skill or achieve a goal, that volunteer is our mission in action.”
Mosaic in Southeast Nebraska welcomes volunteers of all ages and backgrounds who are interested in empowering people to live full lives. To learn more, contact Malindi Gabelhouse, Malindi.Gabelhouse@MosaicInfo.org, or call her at 402.429.0088.
