Mosaic in Southeast Nebraska (mosaicinfo.org) has received a $2,500 grant to fund a community garden in Gage County. The grant is provided through FCSAmerica’s Working Here Fund. The Working Here Fund grant is planting the seeds of connection and empowerment by creating a community garden. This project goes beyond gardening—it’s about bringing people together and fostering inclusion.

“When we work side by side, we create a stronger, more inclusive community—one where everyone belongs.” Community Relations Malindi Gabelhouse said. “The individuals we support will lead the way in cultivating, maintaining and harvesting the garden, while inviting the entire community to join in the journey,” Gabelhouse said.

This garden offers a unique opportunity for people of all abilities to connect, contribute and learn. Whether it’s discovering the joy of growing their own food, mastering the art of canning homemade salsa or simply lending a hand to a neighbor, this project is a powerful reminder that everyone has something valuable to give.

“We are proud to support organizations that are helping community members learn the benefits of growing and sharing fresh food from the garden,” said Tami Campbell, Regional Vice President of Customer Experience in FCSAmerica’s Lincoln office.
