Mourning Hope to Host Annual Fundraiser, Announces National Speaker
The Mourning Hope Grief Center (mourninghope.org) will host the 14th annual Hope in the Morning fundraiser on Thursday, May 2, from 7:30 to 9a.m., at the Country Club of Lincoln, with special guest speaker Vicki Jay. As Mourning Hope celebrates 25 years of bringing hope and healing to the Lincoln community, Vicki will share insight and trends from the childhood bereavement field across the nation. The invitation-only Hope in the Morning event brings together business and philanthropic leaders, elected officials, corporate partners, community members, and grief professionals for an educational and motivational breakfast.
Vicki serves as CEO for the National Alliance for Grieving Children (NAGC). Her 19-year hospice career included end-of-fife community education director and 10 years as founder and executive director of Rays of Hope Children’s Grief Center in Midland, TX. She is recognized for her role in children’s advocacy and for her strengths in public speaking and community education.
Mourning Hope Grief Center exists because every child deserves the opportunity to grieve in a supportive and understanding environment. Their services are available at no cost to participants, and no family is ever turned away. Receiving no government funding or insurance reimbursement, Mourning Hope relies solely on private donations from individuals, businesses, service clubs, and foundations.
