The Nebraska Community Blood Bank’s (NCBB) newest location at 1631 Pine Lake Road has officially opened. The new site, which has been open for collections since April 30, was recognized with a ribbon cutting and open house on May 1. The May 1 opening brought together Lincoln Chamber of Commerce members, NCBB staff and local NCBB supporters.
“The new location offers greater visibility, easier donor access and opportunity for expansion,” noted COO, Ellen DiSalvo. For the past 12 years, NCBB has had a south Lincoln location at 2917 Pine Lake Road.
“Donor convenience has always been a priority and the expanded Pine Lake location will enable us to be closer to where many of our donors live,” added CEO, Phyllis Ericson. “We’re excited to officially be open and to continue to serve the community.” Founded in 1968, NCBB provides blood components to hospitals in six counties.
In addition to the new Pine Lake location, NCBB also has collection sites as 100 N. 84th St., 2700 Fletcher Ave. and 131 S. 13th St.
