Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach (mtko.org) is hosting Cookies, Claus & Community in partnership with Thrivent on Tuesday, December 2, at Sheridan Lutheran Church from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.. Activities include visiting with Santa, decorating cookies, enjoying hot cocoa and assembling care kits for individuals experiencing homelessness.
A freewill donation of $25 is suggested, but any amount is appreciated. On December 2, Thrivent will boost donations by matching $1 for every $2 raised. Plus, Thrivent is covering all online processing fees, so 100% of each gift will go directly to Matt Talbot.
“Everyone is welcome to join us for this fun GivingTuesday event,” said Alynn Sampson, Executive Director. “It is a great opportunity to celebrate the season, spread kindness and make memories—all while supporting hunger and homeless prevention services Lincoln.”
Matt Talbot’s mission is to relieve hunger, overcome homelessness, address addiction and provide outreach and advocacy in Lincoln. Learn more at mtko.org.
Giving Tuesday was started in 2012 to encourage people to do good. Over the last 13 years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires millions of people to donate, volunteer and spread awareness about causes that matter in their local communities.
