This March 12-18, ServeNebraska (serve.nebraska.gov) invites all Nebraskans to join the movement to celebrate the accomplishments of AmeriCorps members and programs in communities across the state and country. AmeriCorps members are Americans who commit to serving their country by serving their community and the nation takes a week each year to recognize their efforts and thank them for their service.
In 2021, over 3,100 AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers served at over 300 service locations across Nebraska. These members helped to boost communities by fighting food insecurity, protecting Nebraska’s natural beauty, providing mentor support to children in need, assisted in building affordable housing, and more.
Visit serve.nebraska.gov to learn about how AmeriCorps members are impacting communities near you. Follow ServeNebraska on social media to stay up-to-date on their projects and to share your thanks for AmeriCorps members!
ServeNebraska is the Nebraska Volunteer Service Commission working toward growing the state’s culture of community service and volunteering. The Commission facilitates AmeriCorps programming across the state, linking local nonprofits, governmental agencies, and other organizations with Nebraskans motivated to make a difference in their communities.
