Sponsor a Community Action Head Start Classroom to Invest in Children’s Futures
Community Action Head Start (communityactionatwork.org) is asking community members and businesses to sponsor a preschool or baby/toddler classroom to help invest in the future of Lincoln-area children. Individual or combined sponsorship in the amount of $1,500 provides the necessary supplies and resources teachers need to support the development of enrolled children for a year. Sponsors also receive a recognition plaque placed outside the classroom of their choosing.
Children enrolled in Community Action’s Head Start program live at or below 100% of poverty level and many face additional challenges such as homelessness or disability. Community Action provides these young children with opportunities to learn and grow all year long in preparation for kindergarten and beyond. Their center-based programs respond to a critical local need for high-quality, affordable, full-day early childhood education services—but to accomplish this work, community support is critical.
“The children and families participating in Community Action Head Start work alongside program staff to build skills and create opportunities for success in school and in life,” said Early Head Start and Head Start Director Jill Bomberger. “We’re so thankful to be part of such a generous community. Continued support from community members is essential to this work’s success, and therefore the success of the children and families we serve.”
