Nebraska nonprofit Tabitha (Tabitha.org) launched its most ambitious project yet – S2age Living opened its doors to welcome residents, or “Sowers,” into the first-of-its-kind in the nation community in November.
Construction is complete on one of two phases of the building at the corner of S. 48th and ‘L’ Streets in the heart of Lincoln’s Witherbee neighborhood. Older adults (55+) and College of Health Sciences students call this innovative option home. S2age is filled with bright and airy spaces designed to foster resident interaction. Indoor and outdoor gathering spots such as the yoga and technology innovation studios, TV lounge, café, pet run and rooftop terrace, complete with fire pits, are perfect for sharing.
Aubrey Paulsen, Director of S2age added, “Combining the two demographics – seniors and college students – as intentional neighbors is a great fit with so many benefits. Each bring their own special talents and personalities to the table and can support one another. Think of a retired nurse helping a student prep for an exam and, in turn, a student helping a senior neighbor troubleshoot technology. We can’t wait to foster these meaningful relationships.”
Limited apartments are currently available, ideal for those seeking involvement in a community along with a low-maintenance lifestyle. To explore S2age’s many amenities and view floorplans, visit www.Tabitha.org/LiveAtSage.
