TeamMates Announced as Monthly Guest on Channel 8 KLKN-TV’s “Midday Forum”

Channel 8 KLKN-TV has collaborated with TeamMates of Lincoln (TeamMates.org) for many years. The local media outlet has now invited TeamMates to be a monthly standing guest on “Midday Forum,” a daily news forum that airs at 11 a.m.

The “Midday Forum” appearances allow TeamMates to share the needs and impact of the youth work they champion. Jim Bennett, TeamMates of Lincoln coordinator, often appears on “Midday Forum,” but TeamMates facilitators, mentors, and school principals also serve as guests.

The consistent message shared by TeamMates’ representatives on the midday show is the positive difference mentoring makes in the community. This school year, TeamMates aspires to share more of the many mentoring success stories.

Stories like that of Jack and Bryan. Jack has been Bryan’s TeamMate since third grade and stuck by Bryan through high school graduation in May, 2019. Jack was recently diagnosed with cancer and is currently receiving chemotherapy. Bryan is there for him, helping with lawn care, visiting and encouraging Jack because he wants to give back to the man who supported him for the past 10 years.
