As the end of the school year approaches, TeamMates of Lincoln continues to add to what has already been a record year. With the last training session coming to a close in April, they surpassed the long-time goal of 365 mentors trained during the 2025-26 school year. That’s over 1 new mentor for every day of the year, which has never been done in the 35 years of TeamMates’ existence. While they’re always accepting new mentors, the training sessions will take a pause in May and start back up in June as they ramp up for the 2026-27 school year.
While Teammates of Lincoln will have supported more than 1,400 matches over the 2025-26 school year, there are still over 500 students eagerly awaiting a mentor. Whether you decide to apply now or later in the summer, it’s a great time to get a head start so you’re ready to begin your journey with your mentee at the start of the school year.
