The Apace Choir brought music and joy to the Nebraska State Capitol during a special noon concert that drew a strong crowd of guests and supporters. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Capitol Rotunda, the performance was both uplifting and memorable, with voices echoing beautifully throughout the historic space.
This concert marked just the second time the Crete Choir and the Lincoln Choir joined together as one unified group, making the occasion even more meaningful. The combined choir sang familiar favorites, including “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” “America the Beautiful,” “Do-Re-Mi,” and “She’ll Be Coming ’Round the Mountain,” inviting the audience to smile, reflect and even sing along.
The energy and enthusiasm of the performers were evident in every song, highlighting the power of music to bring people together and create shared moments of connection. Events like this showcase not only musical talent but also the importance of inclusion and community.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Dr. Jay Gilbert, along with the Crete Day Center and the Lincoln Day Centers, for their dedication, passion and hard work in making this inspiring performance possible.
