The Foundry (thefoundry.co) is pleased to announce the launch of a new cohort theme for the Intern Foundry program–Intern Foundry Green–set to commence in the summer of 2025. The Intern Foundry program has been dedicated to connecting purpose-driven businesses with high-achieving students from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Honors Program. For the upcoming year, The Foundry will be accepting waitlist applications from firms interested in hiring interns from either Intern Foundry Health or Intern Foundry Green starting in October.

Intern Foundry Green will serve students aspiring to pursue careers in environmental fields. This initiative provides young talent with the opportunity to explore diverse career paths, enhancing the likelihood of retaining bright minds in Lincoln and Nebraska, while strengthening the region’s workforce.

The Intern Foundry program is a collaborative initiative between The Foundry and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Honors Program, dedicated to addressing the challenge of “brain drain” in Nebraska. By providing hands-on learning experiences in crucial community sectors, the program plays a vital role in nurturing a strong pipeline of future leaders, professionals and volunteers in Lincoln and throughout Nebraska.

Businesses and public sector organizations are encouraged to engage with the program by offering internship placements or sponsoring interns for non-profit organizations. As Foundry Talent Leader corporate sponsors, organizations (or designated non-profits) will gain access to up to 180 hours of intern project talent during the designated 11 week term.

Businesses interested in hiring an intern for the summer of 2025 should reach out to Dr. Julie Murray Jensen at julie@thefoundry.co for further information.
