The Salvation Army Lincoln recently celebrated its 125th anniversary in Lincoln with a LCOC ribbon cutting for an $800,000 building expansion and renovation of its existing building at 2625 Potter St. (27th and Potter).  The facility includes an expansion of its food pantry, and renovated classrooms and brings the building up to compliance with ADA standards.  The existing building was originally built in 1955 and an addition was added in 1973.

The Salvation Army came to Lincoln in 1888 and has had a continual presence in Lincoln since then.  The Salvation Army is a religious institution (church) as well as a non-profit, and provides a food pantry, drop in after school program, a meal program for kids, social services, and other vital programs to the Lincoln community.
