Be on the lookout for The White Cane Foundation’s (WCF, www.thewhitecanefoundation.org) brand-new truck that will be traveling the streets of Lincoln this fall to deliver brand new outfits to the 12 schools they are now serving. The White Cane Foundation thanks UBT’s Big Give and the Lincoln voters for this great honor.

The White Cane Foundation began at Belmont School in 2019 with the mission of gifting two brand new outfits to Lincoln’s Title 1 elementary school students living at or below the poverty level. They can proudly say that they have added Lakeview, Norwood Park, Clinton, Prescott, McPhee, Everett, West Lincoln, Hartley, Elliott, Saratoga and Huntington. They are two-thirds of the way to their goal in such a short period of time. WCF visits schools weekly, providing every identified child with two fittings per school year to accommodate changing seasons and growing kids. Thank you, Lincoln, for your continued support.

WCF is hosting their second Annual Lover of the Light Event on Thursday, September 21, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at The Apothecary, located at 809 P Street. Please visit www.thewhitecanefoundation.org for ticket information.
