Theatre Arts for Kids Launches Community Impact Outreach Program

Theatre Arts for Kids (www.tafk.org) fosters opportunities in shows and classes for children of all ability levels, welcomes children with disabilities of all kinds, and provides scholarships for families who would otherwise not be able to participate. Committed to embracing their community and making a difference within it, that is just a small piece of the local non-profit’s efforts.

Each year, the TAFK family takes on at least one project to make a difference for others. This has included adopted families at Christmas time, raising funds to acquire equipment for the Bryan Health NICU, bringing the performing arts into the Lincoln

Public Libraries and most recently, organizing an animal adoption fundraiser for the Lincoln Children’s Zoo. These projects make an impact on the TAFK kids, allowing them to take ownership in the difference they are making in their community and also emphasizing gratitude for their own opportunities in life.

This summer TAFK is proud to launch their Community Impact outreach program. They’ll be “taking their show on the road,” bringing performances and education into Clinton & Hartley Community Center as well as Educare and Bryan Health Child Development Center. Next summer the organization will be working with hearing-impaired students through Lincoln Public Schools and is open to suggestions for ways to make a difference in Lincoln in the future.
