As the YWCA Lincoln celebrated its 125th anniversary in Lincoln last September, it launched a new program that hits directly at the core of its mission, empowering women through “Leadership Circles.”

The goal is to bring women from all walks of life together in a unique experience resulting in each woman moving forward in life with more passion and confidence.  The more diversity of age, race and life experience the richer the discussions and learning.

The dates for the winter/spring circles are:  Monday Circle- February 27, March 5, 19, 26 and Tuesday Circle- February 28, March 6, 20, 27 with locations to be announced.  The founding Lincoln Guardians will continue to facilitate classes and include: Liz Ring Carlson, Jeanie Cole, Samantha Eckhardt, Stacy Gutschenritter, Denise Scholl-Serrett and Paige Zutavern.  Scholarships are available for YWCA clients and others on a need basis.   Light meal and drinks will be provided.

Each series consists of four sessions that meet for 2.5 hours per session for a total price of $175.00. Participants are asked to commit to all four sessions. The program is designed around a theme that will facilitate exploration of leadership capacities, experiences and applications. Meg Wheatley’s ‘Four Step Model for Change’ provides guiding principles for group discussions. Participants are invited to engage in open, authentic, and confidential peer-to-peer dialogue.
