Zoetis Recognized as Corporate Blood Drive Sponsor of the Year

Nebraska Community Blood Bank (NCBB; www.ncbb.org) recognized Zoetis as its Corporate Sponsor of the Year for rallying employees to donate more blood than any other of the local nonprofit blood bank’s corporate partners.

Zoetis beat out its competitor, Duncan Aviation, by just 34 units of blood—a narrow win, but a victory nonetheless. Both Zoetis and Duncan Aviation host blood drives every other month with NCBB, and together rallied employees to generously donate nearly 1,200 units of blood in 2017.

“Both organizations did an absolutely wonderful job promoting and growing the competition,” said Kari Lundeen, NCBB donor recruitment representative. “We saw a 27% increase in donations from both groups overall and a 30% increase in new donors. It created a friendly rivalry and also got more employees involved. The true winners are the patients in local hospitals receiving the generous donations.”

Each organization had their own tactics for recruiting blood donors, including giveaways, internal promotion from leadership, newsletter features and free blood typing at lunch and learns.
