Cheever Construction President Retires, Successor Named
Cheever Construction (cheeverconstruction.com) President Wes Oestreich has announced his retirement effective December 31, 2016.
Justin Kurtzer, who most recently served as Cheever’s Vice President, has officially stepped into the role as president. Kurtzer has been a key part of the company’s operations for over 15 years.
Oestreich joined Cheever as a field superintendent in 1985, and has served as president since 1995. Under his leadership Cheever successfully transitioned to employee-ownership. Along with overseeing this significant milestone, Oestreich was also instrumental in creating a
strong company culture focused on talent and leadership development.
“The time is right to retire both personally and for the company,” said Oestreich. “I am very confident about Cheever Construction’s future. The company is well-positioned for continued success, thanks to a talented leadership team and the hard work and commitment of associates throughout the company.”
The succession planning process has been underway, and Oestreich will continue to work closely with Kurtzer to ensure a smooth transition in the final months ahead.
