Legacy Retirement Communities (LegacyRetirement.com) is pleased to welcome Katie Kranau, MBA, MSN, RN, as Executive Director of Legacy Estates.
With 26 years in nursing, Kranau brings experience and an appreciation for relationships that make a community feel like home.
Kranau spent 25 years in hospital care, primarily in cardiac care and the Emergency Department, including 16 years in leadership. Recently, she served as Director of Nursing at a long-term care community in Crete. There, she discovered how meaningful it is to support residents and families through everyday moments and changing needs.
“I feel truly honored to lead the Legacy Estates team,” Kranau said. “I’m looking forward to getting to know our residents, families and team members and the culture that makes Legacy Estates such a special place.”
Originally from Belden, Nebraska, Kranau earned her nursing diploma from Bryan School of Nursing and later completed a bachelor’s degree and master’s degrees in Nursing Administration and Business Administration at Nebraska Wesleyan University. Kranau believes leadership begins with listening, being present and remembering that people matter. She looks forward to supporting the Legacy Estates team and helping residents feel known, respected and at home.
