Lincoln Homeless Coalition Recognizes Fresh Start’s Meg Damme for Human Services Work

Meg Damme, program coordinator for Fresh Start (www.freshstarthome.org), was recently named Human Services Individual of 2019 by the Lincoln Homeless Coalition (www.lincolnhomelesscoalition.org). Meg has worked at Fresh Start since 2005 where she has taken on a variety of responsibilities throughout her tenure. In her current position of program coordinator, she wears so many hats she could start a store. Her responsibilities include program management and development, mentoring and coaching staff, direct service as needed, and more.

Meg continually seeks training and professional development for herself and others. With a limited education budget at Fresh Start, she often sacrifices opportunities for herself so that others can take advantage and benefit. Meg has a passion for helping others that is evident in her work. In addition to working at Fresh Start, Meg serves on the Governor’s Joint committee on Mental Health and Substance Abuse, the EFSP Board, and the Family and Consumer Advisory Board. She has also volunteered for many projects that serve victims of domestic violence.
Meg is known as someone who is kind and compassionate and never ceases to see the good in people. Her authenticity and passion make her someone people can turn to without fear of judgement. Fresh Start would not run as efficiently nor be the program it is without Meg.
