Nebraska Press Association Hires Executive Director Dennis DeRossett

Dennis DeRossett, an associate with Grimes, McGovern & Associates, has been appointed as the executive director of the Nebraska Press Association (NPA; www.nebpress.com), effective as of January 1. The current NPA staff will remain in place under DeRossett’s leadership.

DeRossett was publisher of the Beatrice Daily Sun from 1990-96 and has served as a publisher for newspapers in Ohio, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Illinois. He was on the NPA board of directors during his tenure at Beatrice and was a part of the search committee to hire then-incoming NPA executive director, Allen Beermann.

DeRossett served as president and CEO of the Illinois Press Association (IPA) from 2010-17. In addition, he concurrently held the position of chief operating officer of the National Newspaper Association. After he resigned from the IPA, he began providing consulting services to community newspapers and press associations.
