Southeast Community College Hires Blake Simpson as New Director of Compliance

Southeast Community College (www.southeast.edu) recently hired Blake Simpson as the administrative director of institutional compliance for the Access, Equity, and Diversity office. In his new role, Simpson will provide advice and technical assistance, as well as training and investigative activities to develop and implement the College’s compliance with laws/rules/regulations/policies related to access, equity, and diversity.

“I hope to contribute to the important work of the Access, Equity, and Diversity office by ensuring that the college is in compliance with not only applicable laws, but with the institution’s own standards of conduct, to help make it a place where employees and students can grow and realize their potential,” Simpson said.

Simpson grew up in Fairbury and graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. He attended the University of Nebraska College of Law and graduated in 2014. Previously, he was an attorney in the compliance division at the Nebraska Department of Revenue and the manager in the Property Assessment Division. He also worked in private practice in Fairbury. Simpson lives in Lincoln with his wife Austin and two children, Kaylee and Evelyn.
