The Catholic Foundation of the Diocese of Lincoln distributed a record $639,276 during its latest distribution from its endowments and funds.  The amount was the largest distribution in the Foundation’s eleven year history.  At the close of the June 30, 2011 fiscal year the Foundation held over $34 million dollars for fifty-two different organizations, Catholic schools, and parishes in the Diocese of Lincoln.

During the last six months the Foundation began several new endowments and funds including funds for St. Mary Church in Denton, Catholic Social Services, St. Mary School in Lincoln, and St. Gregory the Great Seminary in Seward.

The Foundation continued its three year transition of adding new individuals to replace retiring members of its board.  The Foundation welcomed four new board members; Glenn Baumert, a member of St. Wenceslaus parish in Wahoo; Jack Crowley, a member of St. Michael Parish in Hastings; Scott Gubbels, a member of St. Joseph Parish in Lincoln; Ann Hovis, a member of St. Peter Parish in Lincoln; and Patrick Kenner, a member of Sacred Heart parish in Hebron.

Later this fall the Foundation will distribute $37,916 to low income families from the Dillon Scholarship Fund to help their children attend Catholic school.  In the last eleven years, the Catholic Foundation had given over $6.8 million dollars to its schools, parishes and organizations.
